Log Text: Take the D17a from Les Sablons, just past a car park on the right there is a gap in the hedge on the left leading to an open field. The dolmen is surrounded by a thicket of fairy thorns. A heavy jacket and gloves are recommended if you want to get close!

Seems it was once a large allée couverte with a peristalith surrounding its mound, some of which still survives.

Combes menhir submitted by thecaptain on 10th Dec 2009. It stands 3 metres tall, and is made of the most wonderfully weathered piece of limestone, full of holes and divots, with moss and lichens growing everywhere.
It is quite a character.

There is a theory that dolmens (or quoits as they are known in Cornwall) were not totally covered in earth but the capstones were left uncovered and were a copy of the horizon. I have manipulated the tones in this shot to show this, but no shapes have been altered.
