Horomerice Menhir
Date Added: 25th Jul 2012
Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: Czech Republic (Bohemia)
Visited: Would like to visit
Horomerice Menhir submitted by AlexHunger on 8th Jun 2006. This small 0.85 Meter tall Czech Menhir marks the beginning of the Megalithic Portal attempting to seriously research Eastern European Megaliths with GPS positions and everything.
This red sandstone "Uminhiro," as the locals call it, is hidden under a large tree amongst tall grasses, but at least appears to be well protected with this Metal railing and has a proper signpost.

Date Added: 25th Jul 2012
Site Type: Barrow Cemetery
Country: Austria
Visited: Would like to visit

Hallstatt-Dachstein submitted by Harald_Platta on 17th Sep 2016. Picture of the finds from graves No. 101 and 102 of the Hallstatt cemetery (ca. 600-400 BC).
Many older burials were destroyed by younger graves, because of the high density of graves. This is also the case with the inhumation graves of these two adult women, which were discovered in 2013. While only parts of the older burial have been preserved, the younger burial is complete with rich grave goods, including 500 amber pearls.
The picture was taken in the Vienna Museum of Natural History...
