Fernworthy circle

Fernworthy circle submitted by AngieLake on 4th Nov 2005. The southeast-to-south arc of the circle, seen from inside its area, with the angular south stone at the right of pic. The left-hand stones of the main south row lead down towards the light green fir tree. In fact, there are many small stones lying in the coarse brownish grass, which are quite difficult to pick out as rows. 'Must try harder' next time - when it is drier weather!

Ewden Beck submitted by PaulM on 31st Aug 2001. Close up of some of the stones at Ewden Beck stone circle (aka Broomhead I). GR:SK238966. Ewden Beck is the most northerly of all the known sites in the Peak District to the north-west of Sheffield and west of Stocksbridge and marked on the map as ‘enclosure’. The circle is named after the nearby stream of Ewden Beck and is located on a flat shelf just above the steep valley, in an area surrounded by a bank and ditch of unknown date. Log Text: Island in the Gulf of Morbihan only accessible by boat, and site not open to the public (bird sanctuary). Boat tours of the gulf do pass by so you can see it from offshore. Actually managed to get on the Island via hiring a boat but nearly died on the return journey as the tidal currents are very strong. Large stones with half the circle submerged or destroyed by the currents.

Col du Petit Saint-Bernard Cromlech submitted by bolshieboris on 10th Sep 2008. Site in Italy: Italian side - site is too big to fit in one photo - small stones no more than 12-18" high straddling French/Italian Border - 27-10-07

Log Text: The Little San Bernardino Pass goes straight through it across the France/Italy border which it also straddles. Very large circle with small-ish stones. Tank traps and border installations detract somewhat from the ambience, but worth a visit for the drive alone!

Croft Moraig submitted by Nick on 5th Nov 2002. From Aberfeldy take the A827 west towards Kenmore. About 6 kilometres along this road on the left (south side) is a small road leading to Tullichuil farm. Park carefully at this entrance, and there is a gate leading in to the field on the west side of the road. The circle is plainly visible from here. Ensure the gate is shut properly as there are often sheep in the field. There is a good information board here outlining the history of the site, which has three distinct phases. Initially fo...
