Log Text: Island in the Gulf of Morbihan only accessible by boat, and site not open to the public (bird sanctuary). Boat tours of the gulf do pass by so you can see it from offshore. Actually managed to get on the Island via hiring a boat but nearly died on the return journey as the tidal currents are very strong. Large stones with half the circle submerged or destroyed by the currents.

Col du Petit Saint-Bernard Cromlech

Col du Petit Saint-Bernard Cromlech submitted by bolshieboris on 10th Sep 2008. Site in Italy: Italian side - site is too big to fit in one photo - small stones no more than 12-18" high straddling French/Italian Border - 27-10-07
(View photo, vote or add a comment)

Log Text: The Little San Bernardino Pass goes straight through it across the France/Italy border which it also straddles. Very large circle with small-ish stones. Tank traps and border installations detract somewhat from the ambience, but worth a visit for the drive alone!

Normangill Henge

Normangill Henge submitted by h_fenton on 30th Nov 2010. A Kite Aerial Photograph of Normangill Henge viewed from the north. The south (uphill) side of the henge is the most clearly visible here because the ground is generally poorly drained while the banks are well drained resulting in a difference in vegetation. There are drainage ditches alongside the road which stop the water making a vegetation difference on the north (downhill) side of the road. The internal ditches of the henge seem to be more prominent on the northern side. On t...

Log Text: Such a pity the road goes right through it, presumably the builders had no idea what it was. A lovely isolated location.

Tyfos

Tyfos

Tyfos submitted by vicky on 7th Jun 2002. Tyfos Circle, Llandrillo, Denbighshire GR: SJ028388 This fantastic little circle lies in a farmer's field adjacent to a country lane near Llandrillo. Around 20 stones stand in a ring which has been described as either a denuded ringcairn or a free-standing stone circle. Although it is on private land it is well worth a visit and there are several gaps in the hedge making viewing easy.

Long Meg And Her Daughters

Long Meg And Her Daughters submitted by nicoladidsbury on 13th Jul 2005. Long Meg in midsummer moonlight. The solstice night is very short, but when you're waiting for the sun to rise, it gives plenty of opportuntiy to experiment with photos! I took this photo around 2am, in the middle of the solstice night. The moon was shining very brightly casting beautiful moonlight shadows, it felt very magical. I turned up my ISO rating to catch as much light as I could, and set the timer for 30 seconds. This is the result. I know its a grainy picture, and rather odd, but the b...

Kemp Howe

Kemp Howe submitted by nicoladidsbury on 29th Mar 2004. This is the remains of what must have been a beautiful stone circle. The stones are pink granite and have a lovely glow. Unfortunately the ambience has been shattered by the "wonderful" victorians, who built the railway on top of it.
