Kilnsey submitted by rich32 on 22nd Jul 2004. Kilnsey Stone Circle, Kilnsey, North Yorks (SD951680)
1st of 2 candidates for Kilnsey stone circle, on co-ords given by Burl. This site is about 45 mins walk from the nearest path, all up hill with a few fences to clear. There appears to be 6 stones in the circle, one in the foreground is just about visible. Behind 4 of the stones were other stones, I couldn’t decide whether they were part of the original stones and had broken or had been placed.
A further site about 40 meters away look...

Date Added: 28th Sep 2010
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: England (Yorkshire (West))
Visited: Yes on 1st Jan 1987. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 3 Access 5

The Soldiers Trench submitted by andy_h on 4th May 2004. Also known as Brackenhall Green. Situated above Shipley Glen and overlooked by rock art on Baildon Moor to the north and east, this sad little circle lies near the road which destroyed a section of its northern end. It's hard to distinguish amongst the rock scatter and fallen stones, but a couple of (largely reconstructed) double arc settings give it away.

Ewden Beck is the most northerly of all the known sites in the Peak District to the north-west of Sheffield and west of Stocksbridge and marked on the map as ‘enclosure’. The circle is named after the nearby stream of Ewden Beck and is located on a flat shelf just above the steep valley, in an area surrounded by a bank and ditch of unknown date. Nine Ladies submitted by PaulM on 1st Sep 2001. Nine Ladies Stone Circle (aka Stanton Moor 2), Derbyshire GR: SK249635
Nine Ladies is a typical Derbyshire circle consisting of nine visible small standing stones embedded in a grassed over stone rubble bank approximately 11.5m by 10.5m in diameter. The site is the most popular in Derbyshire and much in the media spotlight due to quarrying plans in the area.
The stones are all composed of local millstone grit and none are taller than one metre in height. The bank has now all but disappea...
