Gunnerkeld submitted by stu on 20th Jul 2002. 568178 NE Lakes Sheet.
Right next to the M6 southbound carriageway. Ruined double ring, the noise from the motorway takes nothing away from this site. Ask at the farm.

Hoarstones submitted by baz on 24th Sep 2001. The Hoarstones Stone Circle,Black Marsh,nr Shelve,Shrops.(SO324999)
Access to this stone circle is more difficult than the map suggests.I took a circuitous route and, approaching from the south-west, across the fields I saw a circular patch of hay in a recently mown meadow. The tallest stone,at one metre, lies near the centre. This image was taken from inside the circle looking south past the central stone. Most of the other stones are hidden in the vegetation.

Kemp Howe submitted by nicoladidsbury on 29th Mar 2004. This is the remains of what must have been a beautiful stone circle. The stones are pink granite and have a lovely glow. Unfortunately the ambience has been shattered by the "wonderful" victorians, who built the railway on top of it.

Kilnsey submitted by rich32 on 22nd Jul 2004. Kilnsey Stone Circle, Kilnsey, North Yorks (SD951680)
1st of 2 candidates for Kilnsey stone circle, on co-ords given by Burl. This site is about 45 mins walk from the nearest path, all up hill with a few fences to clear. There appears to be 6 stones in the circle, one in the foreground is just about visible. Behind 4 of the stones were other stones, I couldn’t decide whether they were part of the original stones and had broken or had been placed.
A further site about 40 meters away look...

King Arthur's Hall submitted by AngieLake on 15th Jul 2005.
Blessed by lovely weather, my visit to this strange site was enhanced by the cloud of fluffy white bog cotton dancing in the breeze. This view looks diagonally back towards the entrance gate, with Roughtor behind me in the distance, at 38degs from the largest pointed stone near to the camera. Note the way the two large pointed stones stick up on the 'west' side of the site. The tallest of these aligns at 109degs with Roughtor. It struck me how much the three of them (with a shorter one bet...

Kingston Russell Circle submitted by JimChampion on 31st Dec 2004. Boxing Day 2004. Composite image, taken shortly after noon looking south-west. The field is currently being used as pasture, which means that access is muddy but at least the circle is not lost in crops. Lyme bay can be seen in the distance, and Abbotsbury hill-fort to the left of this.

Knocknakilla submitted by Johnny on 21st Jun 2002. Knocknakilla Megalithic Complex, Co. Cork (W297 841):
On the NW slopes of Musherabeg Mountain, Knocknakilla, the "stone of the church", is almost a twin to the megalithic complex at Kealkil (cf): both sites consist of a five-stone ring, a pair of standing stones and a radial cairn. Of the two pillar stones, one is now prostrate the other being the dominant feature in the complex standing 3.7m in height. The stones would originally have been just over 3.5m apart and aligned NNE-SSW....

Leaze stone circle submitted by knap on 5th Jul 2007. Leaze stone circle on a clear, sunny (my fair skin was red by the end of the day!) and very windy day. A beautiful location on Bodmin Moor, Kernow's best known moor land. Despite it's dilapidated state, this stone circle is well worth seeking out!
