Challacombe rows submitted by thecaptain on 21st Oct 2004. Challacome Multiple Stone Rows. A fairly old view from Brian Byng looking up the hill along this triple stone row. This is how I remember the place many years ago - all very overgrown. I must go back sometime to see if its any clearer now.

Carn Euny Village submitted by AngieLake on 31st Oct 2004. This view over the Carn Euny Settlement was taken in two shots, which are cobbled together to give an idea of how it looked in March 2004. Bec-Zog's pic is similar to this.

Carn Euny Fogou

Carn Euny Fogou submitted by AngieLake on 2nd Jan 2005. This shot shows the huge but low (4.5ft - 1.4m) SE-facing doorway of the Carn Euny 'Beehive Hut' underground chamber, with its own short passage leading into the fogou passage which runs SW/NE, (but snaking here with a flatter, more W/E run), just outside the doorway. It is thought that the Beehive Hut (chamber) was the first structure on this site, so that originally the eastern wall of the fogou passage would not have obstructed the view. It is possible that the sun was meant to shine down t...

Burras

Burras submitted by TimPrevett on 1st Nov 2002. Burras Menhir at Lezerea Farm SW680344 This spectacularly huge stone (9.8ft) has just one detracting feature - it was set in a concrete base in 1971! Permission is required to visit, and it was cheerfully given me. On return of the photos, I couldn't help notice the little face near the bottom of the stone.

Boswens Menhir

Boswens Menhir submitted by enkidu41 on 3rd Mar 2004. Boswens Menhir - a 2.6m high Bronze Age stone standing at the centre of a much denuded cairn. The stone seems to have been carefully placed as it is possible (just) to see many other megalithic sites from here including Lanyon Quoit, Chun Quoit, and Boskednan Circle. Perched on top it is also possible to see West Lanyon Quoit and Tregeseal Circle. SW 4001 3289

Boskenna Cross

Boskenna Cross submitted by enkidu41 on 15th Nov 2004. The shot shows the principal face of the cross with its depiction of Christ. The three-part base is out of all proportion to the cross. The look of stability is deceptive given its three damaging brushed with modern traffic!

Boskednan stone circle

Boskednan stone circle submitted by JimChampion on 22nd Aug 2005. The portal stones illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun. The tallest one (on the left) has a diagonal groove present on this and the opposite side. The holes that the restored stones were raised from have been covered with pegged down foliage, presumably to encourage regrowth on the bare earth.
