Alsia Well submitted by cazzyjane on 20th Jul 2010. June 2010. Up a rather steep style, then through a field with some georgeous 'chunky' brown sheep, this little well has a wonderful magickal feel. Well worth seeking out.

Aveline's Hole submitted by caradoc68 on 26th May 2014. Aveline's Hole is a cave at Burrington Combe in the limestone of the Mendip Hills, in Somerset, England.
The earliest scientifically dated cemetery in Britain was found at Aveline's Hole. The human bone fragments it contained, from about 21 different individuals, are thought to be between roughly 10,200 and 10,400 years old.
A series of inscribed crosses found on the wall of the Aveline's Hole cave are believed to date from the early Mesolithic period just after the Ice Age. The pattern is s...

Bennet's Cross submitted by thecaptain on 2nd Aug 2006. This is a lovely cross, believed to have been carved from a prehistoric menhir.
It stands about 1.7 metres tall, and is just beside the B3212 road near its high point as it crosses the moor between Moretonhampstead and Postbridge.

Boscregan Cairns submitted by Bladup on 10th Nov 2012. Carn Creis southern kerb cairn, only 7m across, it yielded an astonishing range of finds. This had been a kerbed ring mound raised around a natural boulder 1.2m high, and within it were four urns, three of them dating from the middle bronze Age, along with other fragments of pottery, a perforated stone, a leaf-shaped arrowhead, shale discs, pieces of glass, a steatite button and number of segmented faience beads.”

Boskednan stone circle submitted by JimChampion on 22nd Aug 2005. The portal stones illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun. The tallest one (on the left) has a diagonal groove present on this and the opposite side. The holes that the restored stones were raised from have been covered with pegged down foliage, presumably to encourage regrowth on the bare earth.
