Bylchau Blaenclydach Stone
Date Added: 19th Sep 2010
Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: Wales (Carmarthenshire)
Visited: Yes on 24th Aug 2010

Bylchau Blaenclydach Stone submitted by cerrig on 24th Aug 2010. This is a very curious stone. The notch looks like it could be natural, or an eroded man made hole. There are also 2 arrow heads carved into the stone just below the notch, pointing at each other.
The pony is one of many that roam freely over these hills.
This view looking South East , towards Nant Tarw circles.

Bwllch Cerrig Duon Barrow
Date Added: 19th Sep 2010
Site Type: Round Barrow(s)
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 14th Feb 2010

Bwllch Cerrig Duon Barrow submitted by cerrig on 14th Feb 2010. This is looking East, from the top of the mound. This is taken in August, this is a very rare clear early morning sky, with the mist in the valleys instead of it's usual spot hiding the hilltops. At this time of year the sun's rising position is on it's way to it's Winter home. It's moving quite quickly now, about 1/2 degree further South a day , rising to about a degree at the Equinox, and then slowing to nothing at the Winter Solstice, in the South East, before then swinging around back towards...

There are other monuments close to this circle , but the grass has claimed them too.

Banc y Celyn
Date Added: 19th Sep 2010
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 25th Jan 2010

Banc y Celyn submitted by cerrig on 25th Jan 2010. This stone lies just to the west of the circle, and although not listed as belonging, I have included it here. It is about the size of a small kitchen table, approx 4 feet across, with what looks like a ditch surrounding it. At first I though it may be just sheep type erosion, but the ditch is completely grass covered and not worn at all, unlike the usual muddy tracks made by Shawn and co.
