Caer-Dyni
Date Added: 28th Nov 2014
Site Type: Burial Chamber or Dolmen
Country: Wales (Gwynedd)
Visited: Yes. My rating: Condition 2 Ambience 3 Access 3

Caer-Dyni submitted by DavidRaven on 25th Jul 2004. Grid Ref: SH 511 383
A forlorn little burial chamber, near the railway line east of Criccieth.
The slipped capstone has a notch in it. There seems to be a significant number of smaller stones around the base of the rocks; almost as if it could've been the remains of a cairn?!
The stone that still supports the capstone appears to be a different rock type from the rest, like a coarse sandstone...

Great Oak Stone submitted by cerrig on 8th May 2012. This is the view from the South East, on a bearing of approx. 300 degrees North West, along the very flat and dead vertical "smiley"faced Northern flank. If someone hadn't thoughtfully planted a tree in the way you would be able to see that this stone is aligned on the top of Myarth hill (not the summit), beyond this the line goes to Bwllch standing stone, out of site from here. Spookily, if you followed the line in the opposite direction it goes directly through the house I used to live in , in...
