According to legend St. Gwenfaen was pursued by Vikings, she ran from her cell in Rhoscolyn Church to the well, ascended the nearby rock stack and was carried to heaven and safety by angels right before the reavers eyes.

The Cross of Moridic (Llanhamlach) submitted by Sunny100 on 26th Nov 2010. Illustration of 'The Cross of Moridic' [by W.G.S] in St Peter & St Illtyd's Church, Llanhamlach.
The cross-slab dates from between the 7th-9th century CE and has a cross and two curious figures carved onto it. And an inscription recalls the name Moridic.
The slab is also decorated with cord-plait interlacing and key patterning.
