Temple Wood S

Temple Wood S submitted by funsize on 4th Jun 2007. This is a cracking site. Large cobble mound with slivers of upright slabs and a central cist. Very accessible and one of many impressive sites within a small area of the Kilmartin Valley. This shows the larger cairn, there is a smaller one ringed by trees a stones throw to the south west.

The Polisher (Fyfield Down)

The Polisher (Fyfield Down) submitted by Thorgrim on 3rd Aug 2004. SU128715 The Polisher is a sarsen stone on Fyfield Down and is in close proximity to a settlement of the "Beaker Folk". This photograph gives significant clues to its location - the triangular stone and the lone tree are pointers. There is another pointer nearby which makes finding the Polisher a certainty, but I am not going to divulge that. I searched on three separate occasions and o...
