Log Text: Unlike me but I found this a little spooky. In the woods the light changes under the pine trees. There is a large natural rock outcrop to the southern end of the woods, lots of new animal bones on floor. There are numerous rocks all through which have been drawn up by the tree roots, there also appears to be other areas which have been dug out. Cist is to the northern end of the woods. Still well worth visiting.

Log Text: This area had been used for many years 1904 to 1921 as a 9 hole golf course and curling pond. Maps of the golf course show the round features in the middle of the fairway for the 6th hole. Possibly then a water trap. The golf course went into decline after the war. The golf course and curling pond are on land belonging to the local hotel. The landscape has therefore been significantly altered through modern interaction. A great day out fascinating stories of vikings, railway buildings and moden social history but no ancient stone circles. Fantastic day delving around.
