Country: Wales (Mid Glamorgan)

Ty Du Stone or Scratching Post? submitted by sem on 10th May 2009.
Looking W from the stone you can see Kenfig Hillfort.
This is normally described as a defended enclosure.
Other BA and SA sites are visible from here (and more would be were it not for hedges and trees).

Carreg Siglio
Date Added: 28th Nov 2010
Site Type: Modern Stone Circle etc
Country: Wales (South Glamorgan)
Visited: Yes. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 3 Access 5

Carreg Siglio submitted by sem on 31st Dec 2005. This site bears a striking resemblence to William Stukely's engraving of Avebury, comprising a circle with two "horns" leading from it.
The rocking stone was used as a pulpit by Dr William Price to preach his own brand of Druidism. He later found fame when charged with heresy for attempting to cremate his son Iesi Grist (Jesus Christ) in a tin of paraffin.

Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans
Date Added: 28th Nov 2010
Site Type: Museum
Country: Wales (South Glamorgan)
Visited: Yes. My rating: Condition 5 Ambience 4 Access 5

Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans submitted by pab on 24th Feb 2008. Exterior of St Teilo's Church following its relocation and reconstruction at St Fagan's Museum of Welsh Life.
Entry to the whole site is free, with a charge for parking (£2.50 in Feb 2008).
In addition to the wonderful buildings throughout the site, there are many fascinating displays of techniques used for conservation etc, and re-enactments, especially during holiday periods. Definitely worth stopping off if you are ever travelling on the M4 past Cardiff!

This chamber is located in a field not far from the St.Lythan's Dolmen, and when excavated, was found to have 50 skeletons in it, dating back to the " Beaker People ". It has one of the largest capstones in Britain. You can get some idea of the size by Dawn standing below it.

This chamber has not been excavated. It is unusually high and may never have been completely covered and so may probably a portal dolmen rather than a chambered long barrow.
