Log Text: Accessed by a short walk from Piercebridge, through a wood and field. Tumulus is easily visible as you exit the wood, beside a PROW. Oak tree on edge of mound. Depression in the top may be where a dig has taken place.

Ephesus Temple of Artemis submitted by AlexHunger on 1st Oct 2007. Remains of temple of Artemis destroyed already in Antiquity. The site was completely cleared of stones around 400 CE and some columns were used in the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.

Log Text: The tumulus is just the very top of the hill, underneath the trig point. The hill itself is an outcrop of the magnesian limestone. Very colourful today, with dozens of species of wild flowers including hundreds of Pyramidal Orchids. The fly tipping along the track below the hill detracts from the ambience.
