Siambr Gladdu Caer Bach submitted by SteCymru14 on 13th Aug 2019. Edrych tuag at y safle. Fel y dywedais yn y disgrifiad, mae’r maen capan yn enfawr (wrth gymharu â safleoedd eraill tebyg yn yr ardal hon) ac mae’r pridd naturiol yn dal i’w weld yn ei le gwreiddiol.

Castle Ring (Staffordshire)

Castle Ring (Staffordshire) submitted by TimPrevett on 5th Jan 2004. Castle Ring SK045128 Looking E / NE - despite Castle Ring being the highest part of Cannock Chase, the only part with a panoramic view, looks towards (Rugeley?) Power Station! Castle Ring was actually recommended to me by a colleague at work who does not know of my stones / pre-history interest; she grew up in the Cannock area, and given we were making a trip to Stafford anyway, I'd heard that Cannock Chase was supposed to quite nice. Knowing that she grew up there, I asked her if Cannock...

Round Hill Barrow

Round Hill Barrow submitted by Infinite_Fate on 1st Jan 2006. Taken with the same wildly inappropriate film as Swarkestone Butts. This is a shot looking East from the track mentioned above; clearly as it would be illegal for me to be there taking the photograph I had to ask the piskies to do the photography for me.

Wansdyke

Wansdyke submitted by Thorgrim on 9th Jun 2005. Section of the Wansdyke where it crosses the road between Fyfield and Alton Priors. Wansdyke stretches for 45 miles from Bristol to Marlborough and can be walked for much of the way. As it is still quite high, it is free from 4x4 off road vandalism and can be a much pleasanter walk than the unfortunate and much abused Ridgeway.

Hendrefor submitted by TimPrevett on 3rd Jul 2002. Ucheldref Burial Chamber SH551773 Visited Thursday 28th September 2000 SE Pentraeth, off B5109 Pentraeth to Beaumaris road. Two huge piles of stones in a field, basically! Another example of the decay of ancient monuments sad, but one supposes inevitable in many cases. The waves and contours in the rocks on these two are quite interesting to look at.

Coed Y Glyn Burial Chamber SH514817 Visited Thursday 28th September 2000 SW Benllech; this sad and sorry chamber is nearly covered with vegetation swallowed up! The pictures say it all, really. Accessed by a footpath, and the chamber is to the left.
