Cork Stone submitted by Vicky on 13th Nov 2001. The Cork Stone, Stanton Moor, Derbyshire GR: SK245628 The Cork Stone is one of a number of impressive natural outcrops on Stanton Moor. Composed of weathered sandstone it resembles a huge mushroom or cork. As with the Andle Stone nearby it is covered in graffiti from the 19th and 20th centuries and has steps carved into the side to allow access to the top.

Castle Ring (Staffordshire)

Castle Ring (Staffordshire) submitted by TimPrevett on 5th Jan 2004. Castle Ring SK045128 Looking E / NE - despite Castle Ring being the highest part of Cannock Chase, the only part with a panoramic view, looks towards (Rugeley?) Power Station! Carreg y Big (Shropshire)

Carreg y Big (Shropshire) submitted by TimPrevett on 22nd Jul 2004. This shows the stone just in front of the meeting of the three boundaries. "The Big Stone", as this translates, is as about as Welsh as it can be whilst still just in England! The Welsh border is not far, and Offa's Dyke makes its presence felt less than a mile away.
