Dartmoor, shows evidence of recent damage by whatever farmer is running
huge tractors across the fields. S(he) has been driving right through
the rows (perpendicular to them) along several tracks. I saw evidence of
at least 3 stones that had been dislodged and pushed aside by the wheels
of the tractor. I don't know if there is a procedure for reporting such
damage, or even if the farmer is liable for such damage. I have never, in my 12 year...

Chanctonbury Hill is the highest point here and affords views to the North Downs and the Isle of Wight, I was even able to make out the towers of Fawley Oil Refinery in the evening sun. First inhabited by tribesman from the Bronze Age, the defensive works are from the Iron Age, whilst the Romans built a temple in the middle and the Saxons used it as a fort. Coate Circle, wedged between Swindon and the M4 Motorway, visited with permission of the landowner 25/11/07. 5 Stones remain in an arc; 1 additional stone is to the SE towards a tree, and a further stone to the S. There is another stone to the W in a field in front of a barn, visible from the main circle.
An attempt to get something atmospheric from the ruinous circle...
