The people at the garage looked on me as someone in need of care, and when I was stumbling through the gorse and heather I could see them pointing and laughing. So drive past the garage and take the first right park as soon as possible. Walk slowly down the right hand side of the road 'till you see a vague path ,this leads straight to the chamber. Go south from the Long Stone take the right fork,after half a mile there is a track on the right it is a bit bumpy so be careful about 200yds look to the right and in the middle of the field are some trees on a hump,ther you will find the tingle stones. The land belongs to Gatcombe Park but there seems to be a footpath.

Take the A361 to Rode from Frome.On the left past the church is a pub callewd the Bell Inn.Opposite is a public footpath,make your way to the copse at the top of the hill,when you get there go to the next copse and in there is the site.Worth the visit.

The Boat Stone submitted by hamish on 23rd Jul 2005. After you have been to Sherriffmuir Stones keep on up the road. Don't try to find Wester Briggs Circle, it's hidden in the heather. Just down the road past the woods on the left is the Boat Stone. You have to clamber over the stone wall with a barbed wire topping to get to this stone. Nearly broke my leg but survived.
