Wook's Quoit submitted by Hamish on 10th May 2004. ST390578 Somerset Nr Banwell. When you reach the farm there is no problem parking.Ask the landowner for permission to enter. They are quite happy to give this permission.Be careful of the guardian geesethey have a hard peck. The stone is of the same type as the Stanton Drew stones. The farmers wife told me that they get a lot of dowsers there who find "interesting things" This stone is well worth the effort finding.

West Woods Long Barrow

West Woods Long Barrow submitted by hamish on 29th May 2005. It is really quite large, must have been something to see in its day. Excavations in the late 19th century reveiled a central cairn within the barrow covering a Dolmen. There was no pottery or human remains.
