Kerluir Dolmen
Trip No.54 Entry No.10 Date Added: 3rd Oct 2022
Site Type: Burial Chamber or Dolmen
Country: France (Bretagne:Morbihan (56))
Visited: Yes on 28th Jun 2022. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 2 Access 3
Kerluir dolmen submitted by TheCaptain on 19th Feb 2011. Theres a big mound here on top of a hillock, to the east of the Kerluir menhir, but its all covered with gorse and blackthorn. However, there is a way through, and somewhere in the middle can be found this tiny little dolmen, which consists of a capstone sitting on two sidestones, with a few other stones in the vicinity.

Kerloas Menhir
Trip No.31 Entry No.32 Date Added: 24th Jul 2019
Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: France (Bretagne:Finistère (29))
Visited: Yes on 18th Jun 2003. My rating: Condition 5 Ambience 5 Access 4

Kerloas menhir submitted by thecaptain on 23rd Jun 2006. This is the biggest standing menhir in Europe, if not the world, at nearly 10 metres tall, and has lost the top 2 metres after a lightning strike!
The stone, which is not local and has been brought to this hilltop site from more than 2.5 kilometres away, has been beautifully shaped, and tapers both into the ground, and up to a point.

Site Type: Multiple Stone Rows / Avenue
Country: France (Bretagne:Morbihan (56))
Visited: Yes on 5th Jun 2002. My rating: Condition 5 Ambience 5 Access 5

Kerlescan Alignements submitted by thecaptain on 18th Oct 2004. Kerlescan Alignements, northeast of Carnac, Brittany.
This picture was taken looking east in 1987, when wandering amongst the stones was OK. I think many of them have been fenced off to try and combat erosion these days. I must go back sometime.

It stands on a raised area which looks a bit like a village green in County Durham (but much smaller) The road it stands in is Rue du Dolmen. Under the branches of the tree behind is a more ruinous dolmen.

Site Type: Passage Grave
Country: France (Bretagne:Morbihan (56))
Visited: Yes on 7th Jul 2005. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 4 Access 3
Kerherne-Bodunan dolmen submitted by TheCaptain on 4th May 2011. This lovely monument is to be found in some lovely oak woodland high on top of a hill overlooking a stream. It is signposted from nearby, but there is nowhere really to park, and it’s a fair walk along a track and then up a woodland footpath. The monument is a strange one, which uses a natural rock outcrop as its base.
