Coat ar Ran tumulus
Date Added: 10th Jan 2019
Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: France (Bretagne:Morbihan (56))
Visited: Yes
Log Text: I couldn't find this at all. Was in correct location, but no sign of anything like a tumulus, just flat woodland and fallen trees. There is a low wall around in the wooded area, but only found one small stone.

Log Text: Park up alongside the river in the town. It's quite a long but charming walk. Once past the dam look for some log steps going up the bank, which leads you straight to the Allee Couverte. It is on private land but accessible, and the local town is quite proud of it. 7 capstones remaining, it's surprising it isn't visited more.

Log Text: If you are approaching from the East track, wear wellies, you have to cross the stream, and the banks are muddy. Dolmen is on the north west side, two uprights and one capstone remaining.

Log Text: Best park by the farm and walk down the track, it's only good for tractors. The AC is quite cheerful, and if you take a look on Google Earth at the fields to the north-east, just over the river, you'll see many unlisted stones. Must have been an important area.
