Bryn Celli Ddu submitted by ericgrindle on 22nd Feb 2015. The Site is clearly signposted and only a short walk from the road. It is considered to be one of the finest passage tombs in Wales, The series of photographs will show the entrance, the main passage and chamber. The access to the main chamber being via a tunnel, the sides of which consist of large vertical slabs topped by substantial stone lintels.

One of the finest examples of prehistoric rock art in the Peak District. Discovered in 1965 on a large earthfast boulder 25m east of the enclosure , the design consists of a series of cup and ringmarks together with a small spiral and two circles that enclose multiple cupmarks. Located to the north-east of Barbrook stream and reservoir, Barbrook III is very difficult to make out, as most of the stones are almost completely overgrown by the moorland grass and partially covered in peat.

This Dolmen is completely open with no mound or capstones, the chamber is 12.3m long and 1.7m high with its widest section being 7.2m. 28 uprights still stand, forming a passage into the burial chamber, which is similar to the tomb at La Hougue Bie. The location, is high up on the slope but was not the highest point, a few hundred metres away on the top of the hill is a tower. The stones that would have defined...
