Raginnis

Raginnis submitted by lucasn on 26th Apr 2020. Raginnis 'Menhir'. It definitely doesn't look like a menhir and isn't listed as one, but as it's in an area abundant in standing stones and ancient sites, it wouldn't be surprising if it was one.

East Moor stone row

East Moor stone row submitted by TheCaptain on 25th May 2010. When visiting East Moor stone row on Sunday 23 May, I found the row easily without resorting to my new GPS. While part way walking along the row, which I thought would be recorded as a part of my track, an idea came to me. My new toy could be used to record each stone as I found it by making a waypoint. Now its just a case of figuring out what to do with all the data. Here is a first attempt to show the results by simply reading the data into Google Earth.

East Moor Row blocking stone submitted by TheCaptain on 23rd Jul 2010. Long zoom view northeast over East Moor Stone Row blocking stone to Fox Tor. This view is looking directly along the stone row, and contrary to what I have read elsewhere, the far end of the stone row can be seen from here, although not most of the stones which make up the row in the lower ground between the two hills.

Berry Tower Cross

Berry Tower Cross submitted by RoyReed on 9th Sep 2024. Berry Tower stands on the north side of Bodmin, and is all that remains of an ancient chapel, built 1501, and dedicated to the Holy Cross. The land surrounding it has been enclosed and formed into a cemetery. The cross originally stood where three ways meet, near the ancient building now used as a barn at Berry, and was removed a few years ago to its present position. It is somewhat mutilated, and the head leans considerably over to one side. The only great difference between this and the e...

Berrycombe Cross submitted by torwen on 18th Jan 2015. Berrycoombe Cross is situated outside of Bodmin Gaol (Prison) at Berrycoombe Road. It is on the Pilgrims Way to Scarletts Holy Well, the most famous holy well in Bodmin. But it could also be a boundary marker between the Manor of Bodiniel and Bodmin. In 1968 the cross was hit by a lorry and smashed into three pieces and restored in the early 1970s.

Scarlett's Well submitted by KiwiBetsy on 4th Oct 2006.
