Whitehill Stone Circle

Whitehill Stone Circle submitted by cosmic on 4th Apr 2004. Whitehill in Aberdeenshire at NJ 643135 is Graded as ruined but recogniseable but still appears in his Guide to Stone Circles. Recently the surrounding wood has been harvested so it can be seenin context. Only the West flanker (about 8 fett tall) and a stone in the NW corner are still standing but the general shape is obvious from the fallen stones and the cairn inside.

Nine Ladies submitted by PaulM on 1st Sep 2001. Nine Ladies Stone Circle (aka Stanton Moor 2), Derbyshire GR: SK249635 Nine Ladies is a typical Derbyshire circle consisting of nine visible small standing stones embedded in a grassed over stone rubble bank approximately 11.5m by 10.5m in diameter. The site is the most popular in Derbyshire and much in the media spotlight due to quarrying plans in the area. The stones are all composed of local millstone grit and none are taller than one metre in height. The bank has now all but disappea...

Breemie Stones

Breemie Stones submitted by sacredway on 23rd Apr 2007. Looking over the granite recumbent and flankers towards the Barmekin Hill at Echt (hill fort remains on top of the Barmekin hill). Note the shape of the recumbent mimicks the shape of the Barmekin Hill and the distant Hill of Fare. It was aligned to this hill on its SW axis. The left flanker is about 6.5 feet tall.

There was no obvious path to the stones apart from through the crops so I took the shot from a distance.
