Menires de Milrei e do Padrão submitted by paulcall on 1st Sep 2008. This menhir is the only one in the area of south-western Portugal which is, to my knowledge, upright, having been re-erected. It is also known as Menir de Padrao This stone is found south of Raposeira, by heading out of the village and turning right onto the first road, and driving about 500m.

Porthmeor Circle submitted by paulcall on 6th Sep 2008. Taken in late July when the bracken seems to grow mainly within the boundary of the circle of stones. There are a lot of scattered stones downhill and I found that circle itself was pretty difficult to identify.

Conjunto de menires de Vila do Bispo submitted by paulcall on 11th Sep 2008. This site is found by taking the minor road running SW from Vila do Bispo, which runs parallel to the EN125 major road. After about 1km turn left under the main road and park on the left by a sign which says 'Roteiro Megalitico' (GPS 37.06991 N, -8.91937 W). This is the start of a trail which winds around the local area, and takes in at least 8 numbered neolithic menhirs. There are several others in the area that can also be found. Bepton Down Bowl Barrow submitted by paulcall on 1st Oct 2008. Bepton Down bowl barrow as seen from the platform barrow. The dark nettles in the foreground are growing in the hidden ditch of the barrow on which I am standing. There is a cross dyke running across the far side of the field, although it is better seen on the other side of the South Downs Way, which is marked by the brown line of grass in the photo.
