Log Text: The Løkkeby Longbarrow is one of Langeland's finest ancient monuments, monumentally lying on a low hill covered with big old trees. The mound has been interacted with numerous small stones and measures 35 meters east-vest, 10 meters in diameter. A single chamber in the middle of the mound is undisturbed and with preserved capstone. There has been no excavation of this site.

Log Text: Unfortunately the dolmen is totally covered by trees, bushes and brambles. The site needs to be cleared to bring the dolmen out in the free in order for everybody to be able to enjoy the sight.

Log Text: In a field boundary 300 m south of the road through Kædeby a dolmen chamber of impressive dimensions is situated.
The dolmen chamber consists of 4 man size supporting stones of which the 3 still stands upright. On these lies - now somewhat downsliden - the huge top cover stone. On the upper surface of this stone approx. 50 more or less obvious coup marks can be found.
Despite the fact that the chamber partly is collapsed, it maybe better than any other megalit at Langeland gives an archaeological impression of the impressive skill of the megalit builders some 5000 years ago. The chamber hasn't been excavated.
Dyssekammer i Kædeby
I et markskel 300 m syd for vejen gennem Kædeby ligger et dyssekammer af imponerende størrelse.
Dyssekammeret består af 4 mandshøje bæresten af hvilke de 3 endnu står oprejst. På disse ligger - nu noget nedskredet - den enorme dæksten, på hvis overside kan tælles ca. 50 mere eller mindre tydelige skåltegn.
Trods det at kammeret er delvist sammenskredet, giver det måske bedre end noget andet langelandsk fortidsminde et indtryk af stengravbyggernes fænomenale kunnen for omkring 5000 år siden. Kammeret er ikke udgravet.

Log Text: The remaining part of this ruined passage grave is located in a corner of an intensively cultivated field. Even here in November, there are crops on the field. To get to the passage grave, I had to approach it from the adjacent uncultivated field. Beside the large stones, there is a lot of smaller stones that apparently has been relocated parts of the much larger passage grave here.

Log Text: When approaching this site one couldn't help but notice that lots of really big stones that perhaps once was a part of these two long barrows are used for decorative puposes at some of the small farmhouses here.

Log Text: The picture of the Dolmen at http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/thumbnail/4246218.jpg is misplaced. The Dolmen at the picture actually is the Bjerreby Dolmen. find this Dolmen at the location.
Since the ground at the site was covered by snow and was frozen, as well as the boulders in this area was covered with broken off branches, it wouldn't be fair to rate the site before I can do a revisit in the spring or summer.
