Ballymacus megalithic tomb submitted by GaelicLaird on 26th Apr 2021. A wider view to the south west. The peninsula in the far distance is known as The Old Head of Kinsale. 11 miles south of that point in 1915 the largest ship of its time, the Lusitania, was torpedoed by a German U-boat and sank in 18 minutes with the loss of 1,198 passengers and crew. Drombohilly Stone Circle

Drombohilly Stone Circle submitted by kenwilliams on 23rd Oct 2005. Drombohilly is a truly magnificent circle, though a visit is not for the faint hearted. After any spell of rain the terrain here is treacherous, barb-wire, slippery rock filled streams, shoe-sucking bog... Bring a trusted pair of wellingtons.

Giant's Table

Giant's Table submitted by EdwardTheHead on 6th Apr 2007. Wedge tomb near Ventry Co Kerry. Tomb seems to lie in a north south line as the bay in the background is to the south. To get here you will most likely have to ask a local as I did both times I was here. This is on private land, and usually has sheep around.

Meggagh submitted by enkidu41 on 25th May 2004. R 258988 This is not shown on the map but it seems to be a small wedge tomb even though the stones, particularly the capstone, seem disproportionately massive for what is an unusually small chamber. Hmm.....genuine?
