Kill Barrow

Kill Barrow submitted by sem on 3rd Oct 2016. I think there is a certain delicious irony in posting the first picture of a site that includes so many members of The Megalithic Portal in it. Well done all!

Site Type: Cairn Country: England (Somerset)
Visited: Yes on 8th Jul 2017

Robin How

Robin How submitted by sem on 8th Jul 2017. Robin How Cairn together with an unnamed cairn form a pair on the horizon when approached by the track. Joanie Howe Cairn is behind Robin How and does not become visible until you reach the latter. Joanie How and the unnamed cairn then form another pair on the horizon. This pairing of cairns is very similar to the arrangements found in South Wales.

Sythfaen (Carmarthenshire) submitted by sem on 18th Jan 2012. Sythfaen Standing by the road-side and dwarfed by a modern pole, Sythfaen looks forlorn. Nearly strangled by undergrowth and not even afforded the dignity of being used as a gate-post, how are the mighty fallen.

Woodhenge (Wiltshire) submitted by sem on 7th Sep 2015. Woodhenge -The Model One picture taken of a 3D model conceived during a wet weekend. Projects like this can reveal previously unseen features. I would point out that the henge itself is now thought to have been built after the timbers decayed.
