Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 8th Aug 2009

Llorfa submitted by sem on 8th Aug 2009. Doesn't look much...
but finding a small circle like this (8 stones lie beneath grass height and possibly more below the peat) after a long walk, make the day worth while.

Llwyncwmstabl
Date Added: 11th Jun 2012
Site Type: Cairn
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 17th Sep 2009

Llwyncwmstabl submitted by sem on 17th Sep 2009. Though it looks insignificant, this cairn is beautifully visible from Llorfa circle across the valley and from other points in the area.
It appears to me that the people who built these monuments designed them to be viewed. Could this mean that the point of viewing was as sacred as the monument itself?

The cross originally stood outside the the church and was destroyed when the church tower fell down. The cost of restoration was £1800 pounds.
It has been suggested that it dates from C7 but more realistically from 9/10 Cent.

Pump Maen (Five Stones)
Date Added: 11th Jun 2012
Site Type: Stone Row / Alignment
Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 25th Apr 2010

Pump Maen (Five Stones) submitted by sem on 25th Apr 2010. Pump Maen - Five Stones
The first four can be seen but a fifth lies hidden among the grey of rock outcrops.
The row points to a sixth stone on the horizon. This marks a route down a treacherous scree/cliff slope.
The row is aligned at the same angle as Carreg Cadnow Row, but as CC also points to a way down whether there is an Astronomical angle is debateable.

Carnau'r Garreg Las submitted by sem on 17th Aug 2010. From a distance the twin cairns resemble the double peak of Pen y Fan, which is not visible from this area.
Could this have been intentional?

Garreg Lwyd Marker Stone submitted by sem on 19th Aug 2010. This erratic appears to have been raised on smaller boulders and it's long axis aligned with Garreg Lwyd and Carn Pen-y-Clogau.
A good example of a "secret sign".

Malia submitted by sem on 4th Sep 2010. The Kernos
As you can see from the pic, the archaeos consider it an "offering table."
There are 33 small holes plus 1 larger hole on it's rim. An usual number 33, it equates to the precise number of years that the sun will at the exactly the same point on the horizon.
Coincidence?
