Tinkinswood outliers submitted by sem on 16th Feb 2004. These large stones lie about 50yds from the burial chamber. They are only a few of those that litter the site and are never mentioned in guides. Could it be that the site is larger than we think? ST093733

The Nipple

Site Type: Cairn Country: Wales (Powys)
Visited: Yes on 7th Jan 2009

The Nipple

The Nipple submitted by sem on 7th Jan 2009. From the photo you can see why we gave this cairn it's name. Astoundingly, it is right next to a walkers path but is not shown on OS maps nor mentioned in the RCAHMW database. That's the problem with archaeologists, they can't tell a nipple when they see one and they think cairns are just a pile of old stones.
