Nash Point Barrows submitted by sem on 5th Nov 2012. Thank the wall
If it were not for the wall these barrows would merge into the background. Even with it there, they only appear as green lumps against it's grey stones.

Heol y Mynydd Round Barrow submitted by sem on 5th Nov 2012. Barely visible
This barrow seems to be playing hide-and-seek. It is centre left behind the square rock. At 0.3m high, it is not the most imposing of ancient monuments.

At first difficult to spot because it has been robbed out, once you know where to look it is visible from over 4 miles away.

... presumably why it was given such a romantic name by the Glam Gwent AT. It is one of the more easy to find as the kerbing is obvious.

Looking East. The bank of this ring cairn is far more pronounced from a distance and produced the standard "Let's look at that lump over there" from Pab.

Gray Hill Cairn Cemetery submitted by sem on 6th May 2013. Gray Hill Cemetary
There are meant to be 9 barrows here. We found plenty of lumps and bumps plus the odd stone that seemed to have been placed with a purpose. But even using a GPS, we could not be sure if we had found anything.

Gray Hill circle submitted by sem on 6th May 2013. Luckily the winter die-back of vegetation allows a view of the whole circle. Unfortunately it also revealed some graffiti on the stone at the bottom right of the pic.
