King's Quoit, Manorbier

King's Quoit, Manorbier submitted by sem on 26th Aug 2004. One thing the guide books fail to mention is the stones that line the hillside. These make this site unique amongst those I have visited and it makes me wonder if those surrounding other dolmens were put there not to hold in earth mounds but some form of energy. To quote(?)someone "If Roman remains have been covered by earth why have Neolithic remains been uncovered?"

Bedd yr Afanc

Bedd yr Afanc submitted by sem on 10th Sep 2006. My Welsh dictionary translates this as "Grave of the beaver," but I think I prefer water monster. Supposedly difficult to find I had no problems. When you leave the road just head roughly South towards the most significant point on the horizon and the grave "emerges" from the ground in front of you.

Carn Menyn (Gate Post?)

Carn Menyn (Gate Post?) submitted by sem on 1st Nov 2010. Gate Post? The N side(away from camera) has a hole that has been drilled as opposed to a cupmark, probably to use as a gate hanging. BUT, there are no signs of a field boundary within 20yds. I don't know why someone would put a 5ft stone here without reason.
