Log Text: Stop at Webbs Down near Bolventor to try to walk to the Goodaver stone circle through the forests from the north. Its very hot, and about halfway there the forest tracks are all shut off, with barbed wire and CCTV. I look at going over the rough ground to the west of the forest, but it wont be easy. I then check my route map, and realise that the 5 km walk is each way, not a full round trip. Decide this is no good, and head back to the car, but I do get to visit the stone row. Time to go to Blisland for an afternoon pint.

Log Text: On my way down to Wadebridge today, I didn't have time for the long walk through the forest, but thought I'd try the direct ways from the Bolventor - St Cleer road down the Fowey valley. Both these ways I have seen described. Plan A. up the curvy track at Trezibbet, which is clearly seen from the raad in the valley. I asked somebody tending lambs in the barns at the bottom, and got a friendly but definite no. No way through. Private land. Plan A.2. Up either track from Goodaver, one of which shows to be a path on my OutdoorActive routeplanner. All gates and ways across the river locked. Asked a man tending a tractor. A less friendly, No. Private. So, maybe another time with half a day spare to try the forest way from the north.
Cator Common Platform Cairn and Cist
Date Added: 24th Dec 2022
Site Type: Cairn
Country: England (Devon)
Visited: Couldn't find on 6th Dec 2022
Log Text: Driving back to the cottage from Postbridge, thought I'd have a quick look for the remains of this cairn circle and cist, although I didn't have any details with me and no phone signal. It's not very accurately marked on the OS map I had with me, but I had a walk alonside the river in the boggy ground but it was getting dark and I could find nothing. Reading up on it when home, and its up on the slope somewhere.
Moor Divock 6, 7 and 8
Date Added: 24th Nov 2022
Site Type: Cairn
Country: England (Cumbria)
Visited: Couldn't find on 20th Sep 2022
Log Text: Now much later than my explorations, I am looking at an old antiquarian article, "The Prehistoric Remains on Moordivock, near Ullswater. — By M. WAISTELL TAYLOR". I see that in approximately where the shake hole and gulley was, there are marked cairn circles MD6, MD7 and MD8. These are nowhere near where they were recorded on the megalithic portal, which I had been to look for at the end of my visit, right up near Heughscar Hill. Cairn MD6 is recorded as a ring of seven stones, 25 feet in diameter. Cairn MD7 is recorded as a double ring of five stones each, just 14 feet in diameter. Cairn MD8 is recorded as a ring of seven stones, just 9 feet in diameter.
Moor Divock 4 to 5 Stone Avenue
Date Added: 23rd Nov 2022
Site Type: Stone Row / Alignment
Country: England (Cumbria)
Visited: Couldn't find on 20th Sep 2022
Log Text: Having walked back to the main trackway, I headed along it in a northwesterly direction, before taking a small path out towards the obvious cairn of MD5. As a result, I didn't see anything of the MD4-5 avenue, as I didn't know it was here to look for, and wouldn't have been in the right place by fate.

Log Text: Fabulous loop walk from Coaley Peak picnic area, starting at Nympsfield long barrow, down through Woodchester Park, back up through the vineyards to Selsey Common, and back along the Cotswold Way through the lovely woodland on the edge of the hills. Hoping to get a glimpse of this longbarrow over a couple of fields, but no such luck or obvious way through towards it, and I have a long way to go so not adding on any extra!
Pierre Levée de Boisy
Trip No.205 Entry No.268 Date Added: 13th Dec 2020
Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: France (Centre:Indre (36))
Visited: Couldn't find on 27th Sep 2005
Log Text: The village of Bagneux has a signposted footpath of length 5.5 km which takes in three megalithic sites. One of these sites is this menhir. I didn't have time to do the full walk, and without a detailed map, and no obvious signs to the menhir, I didn't really know where to look. I have since found this menhir marked on a detailed map, and it would have perhaps been a fairly simple few hundred metres walk from the Bellevue farm.
La Pierre cromlech

Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: France (Centre:Indre (36))
Visited: Couldn't find on 27th Sep 2005
Log Text: While at the La Pierre dolmen, I could find no signs of any cromlech. Perhaps the form of the sideslabs of the dolmen was enough for this to once be thought of as a cromlech ?

Menhirs de la Fage A submitted by ocdolmen on 29th Aug 2006. on 28th of August 2006 beside a menhir of group1 of la fage, Bondons menhirs group, Lozère, France.
originally, there was 20 menhirs composing sub-group 1 of Fage, group on the Bondons (150 menhirs); Not long ago, all the menhirs were lying on the ground. They are in the course of rélèvement and the majority are today upright. A part disappeared certainly re-used by the peasants from the surroundings (various constructions).
Their sizes are between 1 meter to 1.85 meter tall.

Log Text: Take the D.35 road east from the Col de Montmirat for just under 4 kilometres, and there is a signpost to menhirs down a footpath on the right. However, when I visited, this footpath takes you through a field of vicious looking cows, so I did not venture any further. Supposedly there are 15 small menhirs to be found in the woods, should you choose to go here.

Log Text: I could find nowhere to park my campervan around here, so ended up turning round and going back, which was easier said than done! However, the menhir standing up on the top of its little hillock can be seen for miles around, and looks to be about 2.5 metres tall.

Dolmen de Saint-Pierre 2 submitted by ocdolmen on 29th Aug 2006. Dolmen de Saint-Pierre 2
This dolmen is located at forty meters from the dolmen1. It is preserved better.
Built like dolmen 1 with schist flagstones taken on the spot, it is approximately 2 meters long.

Log Text: From the Col de St Pierre, several kilometres to the north of St Jean du Gard along the Corniche des Cevennes, take the PR11 footpath towards the summit of Roc St Pierre, and the orientation table. Along this path should be findable two dolmens. However, I walked all the way up the hill to the viewpoint, but found no dolmens. There are however, tremendous 360° views from the top though, and it is well worth the effort.

Length about 1.80 meter.

La grotte des Fées de Cordes submitted by thecaptain on 25th Apr 2007. La Grotte des Fées de Cordes, is on private property, not accessible to public, somewhere up on top of the Montagne des Cordes.

Log Text: Also known as Le Palet De Roland, this monument is somewhere up on top of the Montagne des Cordes. The rock cut trench of this hypogae is the largest of the many around here, at 43 metres in length. Unfortunately, while I was looking, the entire hill seems to be very heavily fenced off, double fences and razor wire on top of one of them. They don't seem to want people here !

Log Text: This dolmen is supposedly about 1.5 kilometres to the east of the hamlet of Barral, and just 25 metres to the nmorth of the road. However, it is so well hidden , that even after exensive searching, I could find no traces of it.
