Log Text: Cycling camping trip of north Brittany, day 3. Breton Corniche, Treburden, Lannion, Corniche Armorique to Primel Tregastel. Wonderful camp-site right on the Pointe de Primel, so I went to look for this menhir marked on the map. I don't remember finding it, so perhaps it was still fallen back then, or it was the dolmen I couldn't find and the menhir was of lesser interest. After a beer and shower, we cycled for an ace meal round the other side of the bay at Le Diben, where I made the waitress laugh because of my Quebec accent and expressions!

Tossen-Keler Cromlech (1964-2018) submitted by thecaptain on 25th May 2007. The cromlech that once surrounded Tossen Keler tumulus have been moved to the quayside at the pleasant old port town of Tréguier.
Much of the horseshoe is here, but there was once a few stones with engravings on them, which are now in some museum or other somewhere, and have been replaced here with more modern stones.

Log Text: It annoys me that I have no photos of this from my visit in 1998. I had another look through my old boxes of photos and there was nothing at all that day of my cycling holiday, although I could have sworn differently. Perhaps my camera was left in my tent as we visited it on a day ride out from Oudenaaard. Very unlikely, I could swear I had pictures of a local windmill and the bar where we had lunch, but nothing was found.

Avebury Aerial 0507 submitted by JJ on 4th Nov 2003. Here's my theory: As you can see, the shadows cast on the western side of the circle point to the exact spot for the next stone in line. Perhaps this is why Avebury is more hexagonal in shape than round.
Based on this assumption, then it would be easy to work out the heights of the missing stones without too much difficulty. Maybe the distance between each stone along this side was calculated not by 'linear measurement' but rather set by the preceding stone and shadow cast.

Wansdyke submitted by Thorgrim on 9th Jun 2005. Section of the Wansdyke where it crosses the road between Fyfield and Alton Priors. Wansdyke stretches for 45 miles from Bristol to Marlborough and can be walked for much of the way. As it is still quite high, it is free from 4x4 off road vandalism and can be a much pleasanter walk than the unfortunate and much abused Ridgeway.
