NGR: SN17052564 (Landranger map 145/Outdoor Leisure North Pembrokeshire map (No 35))
Located 6km south east of Crymych in Carmarthenshire on a steep wooded ridge overlooking the River Taff (at this point the river changes character from slow flowing to rapids).

From Crymych travel south on the A478 to the hamlet of Glandy Cross, turn left towards Llanglydwen for approximately 4Km. Drive through the village past the Bont pub. Turn right towards Login and pull into the lay by on the right. Around 100 yards is the start of the footpath marked ‘Penpontbren’ walk down this path following the wood which is on the right for between 10 and 15 minutes until you come to a steel farm gate, climb over the gate and take the left hand path for approximately 100 yards to the monument.
This impressive monument consists of a large single capstone supported by four uprights which appear to delineate a polygonal chamber. A fifth upright was recorded by Barnwell in 1872 suggesting that this formed an entrance. Surrounding the monument is a series of kerb stones which are possibly the remnants of an earthen mound.

Carreg Samson, Abercastle submitted by enkidu41 on 15th Aug 2004. SM84833350 A capstone measuring 17’4” x 11’9” is supported by 3 of 7 large uprights to form a polygonal chamber 10’9” x 5’6”. The overall elongated shape suggests that there was once a large rectangular covering mound.

Coetan Arthur Dolmen submitted by Johnny on 25th Aug 2001. Coetan Arthur, St. David's Head, Dyfed
(SM725 281):
Impressively situated on the hillside close to St. David's Head, Coetan Arthur is the collapsed chamber of what is presumed to be a passage grave which also has a round barrow. The massive capstone measures approximately 5.9 meters by 2.6 meters and is supported on one side by an orthostat approximately 1.5 meters in height.

Log Text: Directions
Follow the Pembrokeshire Coastal footpath north from the car park at Whitesands Bay towards St Davids Head for about 1.75Km. The capstone can be clearly seen from the path.
Description
The monument is of the earth fast sub megalithic type and consists of a capstone measuring 3.6m by 2.5m and is supported by a single upright measuring 1.8m. Two further uprights have been identified lying beneath the capstone suggesting that this was a collapsed conventional form of chamber. The nearest comparison is the Kings Quoit at Manorbeir.

King's Quoit, Manorbier submitted by sem on 25th Aug 2004. Looking SW,the view here is outstanding. This must have been a very sought after plot of Neolithic real-estate.It is set in a hollow on the cliffside lined with stones bigger than any but the capstone.Children & Nash suggest "no covering mound would have existed because the ledge.....is far too narrow." (Logaston Press 2002)

Log Text: Directions
The Kings Quoit is located south west on a small bank above a cliff face immediately adjacent to the Pembrokeshire coastal foot path approximately 300m from the beach at Manorbeir Bay
Description
The monument which faces inland towards Manorbeir consists of a huge single capstone of local stone supported by two uprights, although a third upright located at the south eastern end, which is now probably collapsed. The position of the three uprights suggests that the chamber was originally rectangular. The Kings Quoit maybe regarded as ‘Earth Fast’ belonging to the sub-megalithic classification.

You know, spine tingling standing at this circle in anticipation of the sunrise and when those rays finally come through the stones from low on the horizon and light you up and you feel the warmth of the sun, whilst birds are singing and the cuckoo in the distance is calling and life is awakening for the longest day of the year it TRULY is a magical experience and the second time in 3 years I have had the good fortune of the weather being on my side...
