Log Text: Limited car parking available at NN 94606 51862. Access to the row is easiest through the farmyard and permission must be sought before proceeding to the row which is situated behind the farm buildings.

Log Text: This is a tricky one to get to. Car parking is available at ND 31885 40851. Follow the old railway line south to ND 31592 40498. From here walk uphill across uneven open moorland. Alternatively access may be available from the nearby Groat’s Loch, South stone row.

Log Text: Lots going on here. On prehistoric side there is a chambered cairn, standing stone and wheelhouse together with an historic sheiling and a fantastic view which on a good day includes St Kilda.

Log Text: Permission must be sought to visit this stone row. The stones now stand in the middle of the Macrihanish Dunes golf course and visitors should seek permission at the Club House Car at NR 65908 24231. When visited in 2017 permission was readily given with a smile. Head north from the club house following the main path for about 240m.

Log Text: Car parking is available at NB 22492 32928. From here follow the path to Callanish 3 stone circle which is well worth visiting before heading south towards the high ground. Cross the boggy ground towards the gate that provides access to the field in which the row is situated. Visitors need to be aware that special care should be taken to protect against ticks. At the time of the visit large numbers of ticks were encountered at the stone row.

Kite Aerial Photograph taken roughly north. just in cloud shadow a short distance beyond the far end of this cairn is Na Tri Sithean cairn which is slightly larger and better preserved.

Head NNW just after the hotel, and follow signs for Gouktoun. Take a right, then right again for Balthayock, and follow this road for about two miles. The stones lie within the farm lands of Commonbank Farm, lying to the west of the road. They are accessible via the farm road and through the fields, but permission should be sought from the farmer as stock are in the fields. I found the ...
