Steinacleit
Date Added: 25th Sep 2014
Site Type: Chambered Tomb
Country: Scotland (Isle of Lewis)
Visited: Yes on 10th Sep 2014
Steinacleit submitted by SandyG on 10th Sep 2014. View from above and north west. This is an enigmatic site which would be at home in the South West of England but is very lonely on the Western Isles. A substantial irregular shaped enclosure attached to the structure strongly supports the idea that this site is an orthostatic round house.

Drizzlecombe menhir 1 submitted by SandyG on 28th Sep 2014. The stone row is overlooked by the Giant's Hill enclosed prehistoric settlement. It is this type of survival that makes Dartmoor such a special place. Plenty to ponder and inspire.
