We were here over an hour and had it to ourselves. A very exposed location in hard rain and very lovely in warm sunshine, both of which we had in the time here.

Penywyrlod

Penywyrlod submitted by dodomad on 21st Apr 2016. In 2005 Caroline Wilkinson from Dundee University was commissioned to produce a forensic reconstruction of the skull discovered in 1972. Caroline's work involves taking a plaster cast of the skull and positioning pins on it to indicate the likely depth of flesh at a number of key locations. The style of hair cut and...

Maen Serth

Maen Serth submitted by TimPrevett on 10th Aug 2005. The stone, with the location of Esgair Perfedd to the rear - a Roman Marching Camp said to take up to 4,000 soldiers, and believed to be constructed during the last Campaign against the (for us) Welsh. They were recently (1973) uncovered. This is a detail of two of the three rosettes of different sizes. This realy cheers you up!
