Log Text: After a busy day looking at WWll history, I managed to get away and find some ancient history.
A wonderful site with great access, signage and parking.
The site is full of ambiance and well worth a visit.

Mont Dol is a large granite rock outcrop, dramatically jutting up through the flat coastal marshlands of the Baie de Mont St-Michel to the north of the ancient city of Dol-de-Bretagne, and in some ways is rather like Mont St-Michel itself, although nowadays completely enclosed within farmed lands.

La Pierre au Diable submitted by davidmorgan on 26th Aug 2010. A four metre tall granite menhir situated among groups of stones which may well be a ruined allée couverte and a dolmen, by the looks of them - difficult to tell since they are covered with undergrowth and trees.

Log Text: I visited this site in on a hot sultry evening and the ambiance was superb, us me,the stones and two deer for company.
The was no one around so I quickly nipped across the farmers field to see this 4 mtr stone.
